Winners and Thanks

The 2019 Bermuda International Film Festival is finally over. We would like to thank all the filmmakers who took part, the organizers, our audiences, and those who provided venues. It was a resounding success! Time to get some sleep.

But first: The overall winner for Best Short Feature was Maciej Kawalski’s masterful Atlas: a glorious mediation on sanity and entropy. Artjom Baranov’s disturbing Pig Heart had an honourable mention.

The Audience Choice Award went to Christopher Piazza’s Baby Won’t You Please Come Home: a moving tale of jazz and Alzheimer’s.

In the animation category, Léo Brunel, Loris Cavalier, Camille Jalabert and Oscar Malet’s Hors Piste was chosen as the winner with its beautiful attention to detail and endless hilarity.

Lastly, the award for Best Short Documentary Feature went to Joel Pincosy’s My Paintbrush Bites, which chronicled the relationship between an artistic horse and its reclusive owner.

Thanks, once again, to all our film-viewing friendsand benefactors. See you next year!
